about

Colin Hinton, Rema Hasumi, and Shawn Lovato's trio is a matter of kismet. Having "crossed paths" for a few years as part of Brooklyn's jazz & improvised music scene, once they found themselves together on stage, "We immediately had a strong musical connection" says Hinton. "The trio feels balanced and able to switch gears on a dime".

With compositions by Hinton & Lovato framing Hasumi's beautiful Bley-like lyricism and elastic time feel, Lovato's straight ahead come avant garde bass anchor, and Hinton's deep (yet free) groove, .. this recording encompasses the past, present, and future, of the classic piano trio.

Digital Album & Compact Disc contain 6 full tracks for a total of 56:19 minutes.
