"This performance/recording came about as a result of friend & colleague, Berlin based guitarist Keisuke Matsuno visiting Brooklyn in April 2022. I had been wanting to record with Keisuke, and in short order a quartet came together with electric bass monster Tim Dahl, and drummer Kevin Shea. With regards to it's electronic nature, this session is set apart from my other work, exploring (for me) unfamiliar soundscapes/architectures. Kevin was really the essential ingredient and linchpin of this session, considering his familiarity with both my own playing (as a member of my working trio), his long association with both Tim and Keisuke, as well as his experience with various rock/electronic idioms.

A very interesting album. At a few places I keep asking myself: Was this composed by Arnold Schönberg (or his disciples)? Anyway, I'm all for skilled musicians exploring the boundary (if one exists) between jazz and classical. Thumbs up! jyrki63

Superb dynamic between these excellent players. Chad's drumming can remind me of Max Roach one minute, then Brian Blade the next, but always sounds entirely like himself. Just a great record all around. jhardycarroll
