"This performance/recording came about as a result of a covid related cancellation. I had booked the wonderful Argentine tenor saxophonist Camila Nebbia to perform with a quartet at Scholes Street Studio in January 2022. When I found out shortly before the concert date that she couldn't make it (this being the time of covid), I just couldn't let the fantastic band she lined up go to waste. Already with ace improvisers Santiago Leibson, and Vinnie Sperrazza on hand, I reached out to long time colleague and friend Ken Filiano to fill the bass position.What happened was a beautiful session with a warm, slow burn vibe.

A perfect example of how sometimes an unexpected turn can become something of unexpected beauty!"

A very interesting album. At a few places I keep asking myself: Was this composed by Arnold Schönberg (or his disciples)? Anyway, I'm all for skilled musicians exploring the boundary (if one exists) between jazz and classical. Thumbs up! jyrki63
