Stephen Gauci, Wendy Eisenberg, and Francisco Mela met while performing with various ensembles at the musical cauldron known as the Bushwick Improvised Music Series. After striking up a musical relationship with Eisenberg, as represented by their recent "Pandemic Duets" recording, the question of a trio performance presented itself. Mela, who performs in the groups of Gauci's former teachers Joe Lovano & George Garzone, was the natural choice. Never one to retrace steps, here the three improvisers offer up a fresh take on the classic bass-less jazz trio.
Digital Album & Compact Disc contain 6 full tracks for a total of 40:10 minutes.

This is tremendous stuff, one of my favorite albums of the year thus far. While I'm familiar with the work of Lopez and Cleaver and they are as usual excellent here, it is the work of Baczkowski that lifts this from being very good to being a year-end list calibre album. Fiery, propulsive musicianship with tremendous communication between the musicians.

Amazing album! Such high energy avant guard jazz. Great interplay between the musicians and Mette’s solo in the beginning of track 2 is mind blowing. So many different sounds. Really great. torzano
